The Comms team are always working behind the scenes 24 hours a day and they don’t shut up shop until a day or two after the event finishes!
To be on the Comms team, you’ll need to be a great communicator. Not only will you be responding to queries on the radio, you’ll also be problem solving for team members face to face, managing our radio communications (handing out radios, charging batteries and monitoring a radio channel during your shift) and you’ll be clued up to everything that’s going on. You’ll need to be approachable, helpful and have excellent customer service skills.
The Comms team also look after keys to the various venues on site, lost property, signage and a lot of your work will be helping the other teams source all of the resources they need to do their jobs. You’ll need to be able to keep calm under pressure as you’ll have a role in emergency response as well as coordinating day to day operations around site.
You’ll alternate between long days and short days. On the long days you’ll work two 6 hour shifts from 8am-2pm and 6pm-midnight. On short days you’ll work during the afternoons for around 5 hours. You’ll often be on your feet so please bring some comfortable shoes!
You will need to provide your own tent, caravan or offsite accommodation but in return for your hard work we will provide you with an event pass and all your meals (dinner of Day 0 until breakfast of Day 7) – winning!
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE?
You’ll need to be 18 or over to join the Comms team.
WHEN WILL I NEED TO BE ON SITE?
Because Comms is open constantly, you’ll need to be on site for your meeting at 7pm on Day 0 (the day before the event starts) and stick around until Day 7. You may wish to arrive in time to set up your tent before the 7pm meeting.
OK I’M INTERESTED, BUT HOW DO I APPLY?
